How to Compare Dental Quotes From Turkey, Line by Line

On this page
The best way to compare dental quotes from clinics in Turkey is to make each one itemised and then set them side by side, tooth by tooth. Two totals can look similar while describing very different treatment: one may include grafting, temporary teeth and a zirconia bridge, another may not. Before you compare prices, compare what is being done, with which materials, over how many visits and with what aftercare. Only then does the total tell you anything useful.
In short: Ask every clinic for an itemised written plan based on your X-rays. Compare the number of teeth, the treatment for each, materials, implant system, visits, inclusions and guarantee. Then ask each clinic to explain the differences.
Get comparable quotes first
You can only compare quotes that are based on the same information. Send each clinic the same set of records:
- clear photos of your teeth and smile from the front and sides
- a recent panoramic X-ray, or a CBCT scan if you have one
- your medical history and list of medicines
- a short note on what you want to change and what worries you
Our guide to the online dental consultation explains how to take good photos and what to send. If one clinic gives a firm quote without asking for X-rays, treat it as a rough estimate at best.
What an itemised quote should include
A useful quote lists every line of treatment. Check that each one covers:
| Line | What to look for |
|---|---|
| Teeth treated | Each tooth numbered, with the treatment planned for it |
| Treatment type | Veneer, crown, implant, extraction, root canal, filling or graft |
| Materials | Porcelain type, zirconia, composite or acrylic, named for each tooth |
| Implant system | Brand and system for each implant, and the abutment type |
| Temporary teeth | Whether temporaries are included and what type |
| Scans and X-rays | CBCT, panoramic X-ray and digital scans in Turkey |
| Visits | Number of trips, days per trip and time between trips |
| Inclusions | Hotel, transfers, follow-up appointments and medicines |
| Guarantee | What is covered, for how long and on what conditions |
| Payment | Deposit, payment method, currency and quote expiry date |
Line them up side by side
Copy the lines into a simple table with one column per clinic. Mark anything that is missing, then ask the clinic about it. Common differences include:
- number of teeth: one clinic plans twenty crowns, another ten veneers and whitening
- treatment type: crowns quoted where veneers or bonding would do; see veneers vs crowns
- materials: zirconia in one quote, layered porcelain or acrylic in another
- grafting: included in one quote, listed as "if needed" in another
- temporary teeth: fixed temporaries included in one quote, extra in another
- visits: one trip in one plan, two in another, with different healing times
Where the plans differ in substance, ask each dentist why. Their answers often tell you more about the clinic than the price does.
Questions that reveal the real differences
- Why do you recommend this treatment for each tooth?
- What would a more conservative plan look like, and what are its limits?
- Which material and implant system are included, and why those?
- What could change the price once I am in the chair?
- How many days do I need for each trip, and what if healing takes longer?
- What does the guarantee cover, and does it include travel for corrections?
- Who will treat me, and can I speak to them before booking?
Hidden extras to check
Some costs only appear later. Ask about each of these directly:
- extractions, grafts or sinus lifts added after the scan
- root canal treatment discovered during preparation
- temporary teeth, night guards or extra X-rays
- extra nights if the laboratory needs more time
- medicines and follow-up appointments
- travel and accommodation for any corrections
Our guide on why dental treatment is cheaper in Turkey lists the travel costs to include in your budget as well.
Red flags in a quote
Be wary of a quote that:
- Gives a fixed total for a full mouth without X-rays.
- Lists "crowns" or "veneers" without the material.
- Does not name the implant system.
- Has no breakdown, only a package price.
- Comes with pressure to pay a deposit immediately.
- Says nothing about aftercare or what happens if something goes wrong.

Using one quote to check another
If you have a plan from a dentist at home, it can be a useful reference. Ask the clinics in Turkey to quote for the same treatment so you can compare like with like, and ask your home dentist what they think of any differences. Clinics such as VDC Dental Clinic in Antalya offer a free treatment plan based on your records, which you can then compare with others line by line.
A simple decision checklist
Once the quotes are lined up, ask yourself:
- Do I understand exactly what will be done to each tooth?
- Did the clinic explain its reasoning and discuss gentler options?
- Are the materials and implant system named and acceptable to me?
- Does the timeline allow proper healing and adjustments?
- Do I know who will treat me and how to reach them afterwards?
- Is the guarantee clear, written and realistic?
If the answer to any of these is no, ask more questions before deciding, whatever the price.
An example of two quotes compared
Imagine two clinics quote for the same patient who wants a brighter, more even smile. Clinic A proposes twenty full crowns on the upper and lower teeth. Clinic B proposes whitening, eight porcelain veneers on the upper front teeth and composite bonding on two lower teeth. On paper, both are "smile makeovers", and the totals may even be close. In substance they are very different: Clinic A removes far more healthy tooth on many more teeth, and commits you to replacing twenty crowns over your lifetime. Clinic B treats fewer teeth more conservatively. Lining the plans up tooth by tooth makes this obvious in a way the totals never would. The risks of the first kind of plan are explained in our guide to Turkey teeth.
Frequently asked questions
How many quotes should I get?
Two or three is usually enough to see whether plans and prices are reasonable. More than that can become confusing, especially if each clinic suggests a different approach.
Why does one clinic suggest crowns and another veneers?
Clinics may judge the condition of your teeth differently, or one may favour a more conservative approach. Ask each dentist to explain why, and how much tooth each option removes.
Can the price change after I arrive?
It can if the examination or scan finds something new, such as decay under an old filling or less bone than expected. Ask in advance which items might change and how you will be told before any extra work is done.
Should I choose the cheapest quote?
Not on price alone. Choose the plan that is best explained, uses named materials, allows enough time and has clear aftercare. If the cheapest quote also meets those tests, that is a bonus.
